Road Blocks

Before I get into updating you on Everett's condition, I want to take a moment to thank all of you who visit this blog and Everett's Facebook fan page. All the support and love means the world to the family, so let's keep it coming!! Also, it came to my attention yesterday that we've already had a few donations, both here and on my other blog. I cried tears of joy when I realized that this social networking is already helping my friend when she needs it most. Remember, if you've got even $5 to spare, that's a hot meal for Heather, or a coloring book for Everett. If you're interested in donating, click here

And to those who have already donated, thank you just isn't adequate enough. You are not only  putting food on Heather's plate, but you are bringing her hope. That, in and of itself, is priceless. Thank you SO MUCH, from the bottom of my heart.

Yesterday was another tough day for Mr. Everett. He had a few more setbacks--including incomplete dialysis due to clotting, as well as problems with his catheter. Today is going to be a big day for him. This morning, he will be having minor surgery to replace the port through which he is receiving life-saving medicine and procedures. They will also most likely replace his catheter. Please send warm, healing thoughts their way as they undergo these moments of pain today.

Also, Everett's doctors are supposed to be deciding the next course of action for his treatment today. I don't have much more information than that, but we are praying that they find the wisdom to heal this little boy.

Despite all the road blocks yesterday, there was still time for a little fun. Nothing puts a smile on a kid's face quite like a bottle of bubbles.

As soon as I know what the doctors decide, I will post another update. Until then, let's keep sending Everett our love! Visit his fan page on Facebook (link to the right) and leave him messages, silly videos, pictures and more. Everett's job is to fight the HUS, Heather's job is to nurture him through the process, and it's OUR job to give them all the support they need!!

One last note--I know most of our worry is for Everett and his health. But as a special favor, please lift Heather and Blake up in your prayers today, as well. Heather is stressed and exhausted and frustrated beyond belief, and she needs all the strength she can get to help Everett heal. So when you stop by to leave Everett a message, leave a little smile for Heather, too. After all, they're a little hard to come by right now. Thank you again!
